Year 9 Development WorldMapper prep

Calling all Year 9 Geographers! You have been set a prep that asks you to look at and comment on the following document. A link to this document can be found here. This will bring up a screen with an icon in the top left hadn corner of the screen. Click on this and it will take you to a WorldMapper document about electronics exports. Look at the document and sum up the key points of the document in five bullet points. Bring this summary with you next lesson.

    These territories,
    with others, are sometimes referred
    to as Asian Tigers, or Tiger economies

    Worldwide, electronics exports
    generate 10.2% of all money earnt
    from trade in goods.

    Japan makes about 45 BILLION dollars per year in electonic exports!

    I never knew asian territories are the main manufacture of electronics. 85% comes from Asia. Ireland get a lot from selling electronics. Belgium don't get much in the electronics table. East Asia and Japan are where the electronics come from.

    Asia territories supply the most electronics to other countries around the world. 85% of territories import. Around the world, electronics exports generate 10.2% of all money earnt from trade in goods. Electronics are things like televisions, radio's, computers etc. Ireland export a lot of electronics.

    As 85% of territories import (net)
    electronic items, these exporting
    territories are from where these
    demands are met.

    Worldwide, electronics exports generate 10.2% of all money which was earned from trading in goods. Asia is the main manufacture and supplier of all electronics. 85 % of countries import electronic items and Ireland exports many electronics.
