Year 11 revision!

Hi Year 11,

Over Easter it is really important that you spend lots of time on your geography revision. Remember that you have 3 exams in geography that are all worth 25% each. When planning your revision, look back at your practise exams to work out which topics you need to focus most on. You should then plan to spend more time practising this content.

For MOST students, you need to practise the geographical skills for Unit 1, learn the physical processes and landforms for Unit 2 and learn lots of specific evidence for both Unit 2 and Unit 3.

How to revise?

1. Consolidate your notes from class and make flash cards to help you memorise the info

2. Look at the ebi comments on past exams and follow these tips when writing answers to exam questions in timed conditions.

3. Download lots of exam papers and mark schemes from the Edexcel website and practise these in timed conditions. (click on "exam papers", then chose a year. The codes for the papers are unit number then F/H for foundation/higher tier, e.g. Unit 1 foundation paper is given the code 1F)

4. Use BBC bitesize revision to help your learning. Work through the notes and tasks for all topics that we have studied.

5. Use the revision guides and workbooks that have the most up to date question styles. If you haven't bought these from student services, look HERE.

Good luck. You have everything that you need to do really well! You just need to give yourself the time to revise.

Mr S
