Year 12 Cold Environments Lessons

Calling all Year 12 Geographers!
Some of you have missed a number of lessons due to the Biology and Photography trips. We have mainly been working on completing the tables on fluvioglacial landforms and listening to group presentations on these. If you have missed this, then you must complete the table (you can find a copy HERE) in your own time.

The landforms you must know are:
-pro glacial lakes and overspill streams
-eskers
-kames and kame terraces
-outwash plains (sandur) and varves
-braided streams
-kettle holes and kettle lakes

If you are in 12K, you have also missed a lesson introducing periglacial environments and permafrost. The PowerPoint can be found HERE and the worksheets can be found at the following links: Worksheet 1, Worksheet 2 and Worksheet 3.

Thanks.

Mrs H-T
