Calling all Year 12 Geographers who missed the thrilling lessons on fluvioglacial landforms :)
You need to know how to be able to describe and explain the formation of the following landforms:
Eskers- http://www.landforms.eu/cairngorms/esker.htm
Kames and Kame Terraces- http://www.landforms.eu/cairngorms/kame.htm
Outwash plains- http://geography-site.co.uk/pages/physical/glaciers/outw.html
Varves- http://geography-site.co.uk/pages/physical/glaciers/varve.html
Kettles- http://www.landforms.eu/cairngorms/kettle%20hole.htm
Braided Streams
Proglacial lakes
Your first port of call should be the Barker, Redfern and Skinner books or to borrow an Integrated Approach from the Geog dept for one day.
An excellent revision site of these landforms is http://www.coolgeography.co.uk/A-level/AQA/Year%2012/Cold%20environs/Fluvioglacial/Fluvioglacial%20landforms.htm
This site has a good overview and accompanying revision document on all the landforms.
Any problems, let me know
Mrs H-T
